I’ve never been a list maker. For the majority of my life, any to-do’s or appointments I had to remember, I did so by taking a mental note or jotting down a quick nonsensical phrase into my phone. This is an awful way to adult so obviously I don’t endorse it one bit. Since becoming a mom, I’ve just been basically living in a permanent state of mom zombie brain. I know many of you are reading this and nodding along in agreement.
Anyway, I will be 32 this year (dry heave) so being scattered and forgetful isn’t so cute anymore. I decided I had enough going on in my life that I needed to start planning out my days/weeks/months in a more organized fashion. I started to window shop for different planners to get an idea of what I was looking for.
I wanted something that provided a big enough space within each day for my gigantic pre-k handwriting; but also gave me different sections for line-items I wanted to add (to-do’s, notes, etc…). I turned to my true love for advice, Pinterest.
Luckily, my hunt didn’t last long. I ran across a blog post (I can’t remember whose or else I would happily link it here) where a woman described basically word-for-word what I was looking for. I trusted her input, and dove in. Eccolo it was.
She stated that the Eccolo planner she bought (same as mine, different color) she actually found at Marshalls. I myself haven’t confirmed this here in Phoenix; but had no problem finding them on Amazon. I have linked the particular style I bought below. Mind you, the cactus print is no longer available, but a girlfriend of mine just bought the floral and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I also bought a few packs of these super fun pens to match; it makes things colorful and they are fun to doodle with!
Then there’s this whole world of planner stickers! I didn’t even realize that making appointments and setting reminders could be so aesthetically pleasing. It almost makes the mundane task of having to adult a little less painstaking.
I’ve had the pleasure of watching a friend from high school explode in the planning world within the past few years; and she just so happened to be gracious enough to send me some of her beautiful sticker packs. She just recently expanded her brand into Michael’s stores throughout the US and Canada! It’s huge, you guys. From one woman to another, I am grinning ear-to-ear writing this. I’m so proud of her and her accomplishments. It’s so cool seeing the people you care about succeed.
You can see some of her adorable accent pieces throughout this post, but make sure you go and check out KrissyAnne Designs website for an endless amount of fun organizational products.
Do you use a planner? Why or why not? What’s your favorite way to stay organized?
